Record Expungement

Sealing Your Criminal Records

Las Vegas Record Expungement Lawyer

A criminal conviction — or even an arrest for a crime that you were later cleared of — can haunt you for many years to come. It surfaces on background checks and applications for jobs, college entrance, loans or security clearance.

The law firm of Ciciliano & Associates can help you obtain an expungement — resulting in a sealing of your record as to a regrettable incident. Our criminal law attorney represents clients in Clark County and surrounding counties of Southern Nevada.

"Were you ever convicted of or charged with a crime . . ."

Expungement allows you to legally answer "NO" to this type of question on applications. Call us at 702.382.2209 to find out if your records can be expunged.

Record Expungement — Wipe the Slate Clean

If criminal charges were dismissed or you were acquitted at trial, you can petition to have the arrest records expunged immediately. All records are sealed.

If you were convicted at trial or pled guilty, you can later apply to have the arrest records and the conviction sealed. Most misdemeanors can be sealed after two years. Gross misdemeanors and low level felonies take longer (or are not eligible, depending on the type of crime).

A conviction will remain visible to law enforcement and the courts, and used against you as a prior offense if you are arrested in the future. But you can legally state that you were not charged or convicted if you have served your sentence and obtained a sealing of the record.

If you were ordered to serve probation as part of a plea agreement, you can seal the record only after the probation is completed.

Your involvement is minimal, but the process can take a few months. Attorney Luke Ciciliano has the experience with the court system to move your case along as efficiently as possible.

Peace of Mind
